Chemical Peel FAQ’S
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel sounds scary but it doesn’t have to be. It’s an application of a professional grade acid, such as lactic or salicyclic, to resurface skin.
What results can I expect?
The treatment promotes the growth of a new healthy top skin layer and improves skin problems like hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven texture and skin impurities. You’ll also notice your skin is glowing and is more radiant. Does it hurt? There might be some slight discomfort during the treatment but it is relatively painless. Afterwards it might feel tingly and tight for a few hours.
Will I peel?
Every person reacts different and every peel solution is different. It can range from slight flaking to intense peeling. Don’t worry, if you don’t want to peel I can adjust the peel solution and depth.
How should I prepare?
One week before the peel avoid waxing, electrolysis, deploritory creams, and laser hair removal. Two to three days before the peel discontinue using any prescription topicals such as Retin-A, differin or Tazorac, as well as any products containing retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) or benzoyl peroxide. If you have had any medical cosmetic facial treatments or procedures such as Laser treatments, cosmetic fillers or other surgical procedures, wait until skin sensitivity has completely resolved before receiving a peel. Wear SPF for at least a week prior to treatment
What do I need to do after?
Avoid working out for 24 hours after. Wear SPF and avoid the sun for at least one week. Use gentle skin care for 3-5 days after treatment. After that you can continue your normal skincare routine.
Microneedling FAQ’S
What is microneedling?
If you want younger looking skin in record time with minimal downtime, this treatment is for you! Also called collagen induction therapy this treatment uses micro-needles to encourage your skin to produce more collagen and elastin. This means you'll see improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, texture, pigmentations, scarring, saggy, dull, tired skin and more. One study showed a 400% increase in collagen and elastin 6 months after a serises of 4 sessions! It's truly a powerhouse treatment that gets results fast with minimal downtime.
Who should do microneedling?
Anyone who wants to see drastic improvements in your skin. Microneedling is safe for all skin tones and, unlike laser facials and peels, can be done through summer.
What should I expect?
One of the great thing about microneedling is the downtime is minimal. You'll be red and feel a slight stinging sensation up to 24 hours after treatment. The following day you can use gentle cleanser and moisturizers and wear your makeup as usual.
How many sessions do I need?
For best results I recommend 4-6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by 1-3 yearly maintenance sessions, depending on your needs and skin.
